The Children's services at the Peninsula Public Library welcomes your entire family. Our young patrons will enjoy a multitude of fun and educational experiences at the library. The children's department has a variety of programs for children of all ages with registration taking place in the Children’s Room. Our programs and library materials are designed to meet the needs of the community.
The Children's Room has a comprehensive book collection including picture books, easy readers, juvenile fiction, non-fiction, book kits with audiocassettes, research materials, as well as magazines, a collection of books on tape and on CD, and videos in both DVD and VHS formats. In addition, the Children’s Room has a computer area where children may play educational and recreational games.
The collective resources of our on-line catalogue, databases, and CD-ROM educational games provide the children and families of our community with the tools to achieve their educational and leisure interests in the friendly environment of our Children's Room.
Children’s library cards can be acquired at the Circulation Desk. A parent or legal guardian must present two proofs of residency and sign the application along with the child. Class and nursery school visits may be arranged by calling the Children’s Department (239-3262 ext. 211). |
